Image Colormap


The Image Colormap shows the palette assigned to the image. The palette mapping is drawn as a vertical bar on the right border of the Image Window. The figure below shows the Colormap in a fragment showing the right side of the Image Window. In this example the color map shows a grayscale palette.

    

The Colormap is a hot region of the Image Window. The following functions are supported:

  • To open the Palette Properties dialog, double click on the Colormap.

  • To reset the palette to its default settings, right double click on the Colormap. This removes all contrast, brightness, and gamma changes.

  • To stretch the palette, press the mouse on the Colormap )mouse down). With the mouse down, move the mouse to change contrast and brightness. To change gamma and brightness, press the Shift key while moving the mouse.
